Việc cấu hình Outlook 2003 tương tự như Outlook 2007 nên ở đây chúng tôi hướng dẫn bạn cấu hình email với Outlook 2007, bạn có thể sử dụng hướng dẫn này với Outlook 2003.
Để cấu hình, bạn tiến hành 2 bước:

Bước 1. Kích hoạt POP trong tài khoản địa chỉ email:
1. Đăng nhập vào tài khoản email.
2. Click vào "Cài đặt" trên đầu trang.
3. Click "Chuyển tiếp và POP/IMAP.

Chọn:
4. Bật chức năng tải POP cho tất cả thư hoặc Bật POP cho thư đến từ bây giờ trở đi
5. Lưu thay đổi.

Bước 2. Thiết lập trong Outlook 2007.
1. Mở chương trình Outlook.
2. Click vào Tools menu, và chọn Account Settings...
3. Trên E-mail tab, click New...
4. Tùy vào thiết lập trong tài khoản địa chỉ email của bạn mà bạn chọn: Microsoft Exchange, POP3, IMAP, or HTTP. Ở đây, chọn POP3, tiếp tục Next.
5. Điền những thông tin theo bên dưới:
- Your Name: nhập tên cho địa chỉ email của bạn, ví dụ tên của doanh nghiệp nếu là doanh nghiệp.
- Email Address: nhập địa chỉ email của bạn, ví dụ: Địa chỉ email này đã được bảo vệ từ spam bots, bạn cần kích hoạt Javascript để xem nó. hoặc Địa chỉ email này đã được bảo vệ từ spam bots, bạn cần kích hoạt Javascript để xem nó.
- Password: nhập mật khẩu của địa chỉ email của bạn.

6. Click Next và Finish.
Vì sử dụng Outlook 2007, nên sẽ chọn tiếp Internet E-mail, rồi click Next.
Nhập vào thông tin như sau:

- Account Type: POP3
- Incoming mail server: pop.gmail.com
- Outgoing mail server (SMTP): smtp.gmail.com
- Logon Information
- User Name: nhập Địa chỉ email này đã được bảo vệ từ spam bots, bạn cần kích hoạt Javascript để xem nó. hoặc Địa chỉ email này đã được bảo vệ từ spam bots, bạn cần kích hoạt Javascript để xem nó. ...
- Password: nhập mật khẩu vào.
- Require logon using Secure Password Authentication (SPA): không cần chọn.

7, Click vào More Settings..., và chọn Outgoing Server tab.
Click chọn vào My outgoing server (SMTP) và chọn Use same settings as my incoming mail server.

 

Click vào Advanced tab, rồi chọn "This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL)" phía dưới Incoming Server (POP3)".
Trong Outgoing server (SMTP), nhập cổng "587", và chọn TLS.

8. Click OK.
9. Click Test Account Settings... After receiving 'Congratulations! All tests completed successfully', click Close.
10. Click Next, và rồi click Finish.

 

Lỗi: An encrypted connection to your mail server is not available. Click Next to attempt using an unencrypted connection.

Khắc phục: Verify your password and clear the captcha. If you're a Google Apps user, visit https://www.google.com/a/yourdomain.com/UnlockCaptcha. Be sure to replace 'yourdomain.com' with your actual domain name.

Lỗi: Repeatedly prompted for your username and password or 'invalid credentials' error.

If you're running Windows Vista, you'll first need to enable the Telnet feature:

Click the Start button, then Control Panel, and Programs.
Click Turn Windows Features On or Off.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
In the Windows Features box, check the box labeled Telnet Client, and click OK. (It may take a few minutes for the installation to complete.)
To run the telnet test on a Windows computer:

Open the Start menu, and select Run.
Enter command in the Open: field, and click OK.
Enter 'telnet pop.gmail.com 995,' and hit Enter.
If the telnet test produces an error, it indicates that your network is blocking access to Gmail's POP servers. Please contact your local network administrator or your Internet Service Provider's customer support department for further instructions.

If the telnet test clears, the server errors you're experiencing are most often temporary and will resolve themselves within 24 hours. If you continue to experience difficulties, please try our troubleshooter.

Lỗi: Cannot send the message. Verify the e-mail address in your account properties. The server responded: 530 5.5.1 Authentication Required.

Khắc phục: This error message usually indicates that you are not authenticating your outgoing mail. Make sure that 'My outgoing server requires authentication' is checked, and that you are using the same credentials as your incoming server.
